NETELLER Announces Service Changes to Canadian and Turkish Market

27 03 2007

I wasn’t shocked when finding out yesterday (March 27. 2007) that Online money transfer Giant NETeller has decided to withdraw “no pun intended” from the Canadian and Turkish markets.
In fact I actually predicted that NETeller would be the next payment process to cease Internet gambling transactions in Canada.

This move follows a trend that has stemmed over the last few months. I recently reported that two other online money transfer businesses (Citadel Commerce and FirePay) have pulled out of the gambling market in Canada. What has caused this trend is unknown. Internet gambling in Canada continues to be a grey area.

The Neteller Group put out a press release to inform clients about this decision.

Citadel Commerce just announced that they are pulling out of the Canadian gambling market.

This news comes just weeks after FirePay announced that they were going to ban all Canadian gambling transactions. Neither company cared to comment on why they pulled out of the Canadian gambling industry. The Canadian government hasn’t cracked down on online gaming laws thus far.
